Summer is always a busy time for the clinic, and unfortunately this one even more so as we continue the process of hiring a new full-time vegetable disease diagnostician.

With that in mind, we are modifying how and what we process until we are fully staffed. Below are the key points, but much of our efficiency will rely on clients submitting the best samples and information for diagnosis, from the very start.
  • The current PDIC pathologists (Mike Munster and Swarna Moparthi) will be handling vegetable samples starting Monday, June 16th, 2025; please remember this when you see new names on the reports.
  • Commercial samples will be prioritized over home garden and landscape samples.
  • Boxwoods that require a physical sample must contain roots and soil to be processed. In fact, please make sure to always include roots and soil for disease diagnosis. See full instructions on our How to Submit a Sample page.
  • Arthropod and other pest diagnostics will not be affected during this time.
  • In case you have not updated your records, please note our new address.
We apologize in advance for any delays in processing samples -- we understand how important the clinic results are to managing outbreaks and helping people grow healthy plants. As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

We very much appreciate your patience and help during this time. We also hope you have a great summer!
