NC State is sheduled to move from Condution 2 to Condition 1 at 10am on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026. We expect to be able to reopen the PDIC at that hour.

Due to the anticipated impacts of the approaching significant winter storm, North Carolina State University has announced that it will operate under Condition 2 (Suspended Operations) from the afternoon of Saturday, January 24th, through at least 8am Tuesday, January 27th, 2026. Under suspended operations, the Plant Disease and Insect Clinic is closed.

To ensure the best possible diagnosis, please do not ship or bring samples until we have a better idea of when we will reopen. Updates will be posted to this page. In case of any doubt, please call us first at 919-515-3619 (disease line) or 919-515-9530 (insect line). Please note that the Turf Diagnostics Lab might have a different schedule than the main PDIC.
