It is with immense gratitude that we wish the remarkable Dr. Charles "Chuck" Hodges a very happy "second retirement". His formal retirement was 34 years ago from the U.S. Forest Service.

Much of his time since has been spent at the NC State Plant Disease and Insect Clinic, where his expertise in tree diseases and mycology (molds in particular) has been a boon to nursery growers, homeowners, extension agents, and landscapers alike. More important yet has been his sharing of his extensive knowledge and experience with future generations of pathologists, all in his gentle, unassuming way.

We look forward to his continued friendship and wish him the best in his future endeavors!
