ECA Volunteer Leaders on stage, opening up a Luncheon

Western Union Park Club and South Central District ECA Vice President, Estelle Coffey, opening our luncheon.

In October our county Extension & Community Association (ECA) volunteers gathered to celebrate their wonderful contributions to Union County at the 2022 ECA State Conference. The conference, held in Raleigh this year, was a gathering of all volunteers across the state to learn new ways in volunteering their time and talents in their communities. Many were excited to see their wonderful colleagues and friends in person, as last year’s events were virtual due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

The theme of the conference was “BEE-cause ECA matters”, and was well shown in their wonderful activities learning about bees and their in-kind contributions to a longstanding partnership with the Boys and Girls Home of North Carolina at Lake Waccamaw. We can confidently say that our own county ECA members are roaring and ready to continue volunteering with a great refresh of professional development.

If you’re interested in joining an organization to provide volunteer service, attend enriching educational field trips, and build upon great friendships with people in the county, Check out ECA! For more information on the organization and joining, contact Marcus McFarland, liaison Agent for Union County ECA at (704) 283-3830.
